1. Product Overview
Plastic coated composite steel pipe is a type of composite piping that integrates the strength of steel with the protective properties of plastic coatings. It boasts exceptional resistance to corrosion, wear, pressure, and high temperatures, making it a versatile solution for a wide range of industrial and construction applications.
2. Product Description
Constructed with a high-quality steel pipe as the base material, this composite pipe features a single or multi-layer plastic coating (typically Polyethylene (PE) or Epoxy Resin) applied to both the internal and external surfaces via a specialized process. This unique structure retains the steel pipe’s inherent advantages of high strength and superior pressure resistance, while the plastic coating provides outstanding anti-corrosion and wear-resistant protection.
3. Production Process
The manufacturing process of plastic coated composite steel pipe adheres to strict quality control standards and consists of the following key stages:
Pre-treatment: The steel pipe surface undergoes thorough cleaning, pickling, and phosphating. This critical step ensures optimal coating adhesion and long-term corrosion resistance.
Primer Application: A specialized primer is sprayed onto the pre-treated surface to further enhance the bonding strength and anti-corrosion performance of the subsequent topcoat.
Drying: The pipe is transferred to a drying oven where the primer is cured and dried completely.
Coating Application: Epoxy powder or other specified plastic coatings are applied to the primed surface. The pipe is then subjected to another round of heating and curing to form a uniform, durable coating.
Cooling & Inspection: After curing, the pipe is cooled in a controlled environment. A comprehensive quality inspection is then conducted, covering **visual appearance, coating thickness, adhesion strength, and corrosion resistance** tests.
Packaging: Only pipes that pass the rigorous inspection are packaged to ensure safe transportation and ready-to-use convenience for our customers.
